Currently my work explores natural landscapes and organic objects reconnoitring how they can provide a metaphorical narrative from human emotions and feelings. An example of this could be how two large rocks rest against each other in the mountains of Utah could be similar to two people resting their palms against one another.
I aim to capture ephemeral emotions that people experience within natural spaces, but I also consider natural matter that I find in them. I like to create and provide a story for these objects in hope that they will reciprocate the emotions, feelings, or events that individuals often feel in these submerged environments. A process that tends to become clearer through doing. I like to move these found materials back into refined pieces of work and give them autonomy through the work as if they are still alive which often, they are.
